Do you ever do a Fourth of July theme in therapy? I LOVE teaching my students about the history behind holidays. It’s a great way to teach history, comprehension, and vocabulary. In addition, it’s also a fantastic way to teach them about how certain holiday traditions were formed, different cultures and religions. This gives them a broader world view and appreciation for other cultures and traditions that might differ than their own. I compiled a list of my favorite Fourth of July books for speech therapy below. I included affiliate links, but you can find many of these as read-alouds online.
