Easter Activities for Speech Therapy

Are you looking for Easter activities for speech therapy? I’ve put together a set of easy activities that are perfect for an Easter theme! Amazon affiliate links are included throughout this post.

I love an Easter theme in the speech room! It’s a fun way to incorporate a fun theme while working on students’ goals!

However, I know some schools don’t celebrate holidays, so if this is you, I have some great alternatives for you! Check out my posts on Springtime Activities in the Speech Room, Springy Crafts, and The Best Spring Books for Speech Therapy!

Easter Books

  1. The Biggest Easter Basket Ever, by Steven Kroll
  2. The Night Before Easter, by Natasha Wing
  3. Here Comes T’rex Cottontail, by Lois Grambling
  4. How to Catch the Easter Bunny, by Adam Wallace
  5. There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick, by Lucille Colandro
  6. Turkey’s Eggcellent Easter, by Wendi Silvano
  7. The Berenstain Bears and the Real Easter Eggs, by Stan & Jan Berenstain
  8. It’s Easter, Little Critter, by Mercer Mayor
  9. The Runaway Bunny, by Margaret Wise Brown
  10. Too Many Carrots, by Katy Hudson

Turkey’s Eggcellent Easter is my favorite book to do for Easter! I have three book companions available for Turkey’s Eggcellent Easter:
A print colored companion with a few black and white pages

NO Prep Turkey’s Eggcellent Easter Companion

Turkey’s Eggcellent Easter New Boom Card digital version

My newest favorite book for Easter is Too Many Carrots! It’s such a cute book with a sweet message! You can find my newest companion for it HERE.

This companion is different from many of my other book companions, in that it includes activities that are in color for printing and laminating, in black and white for no-prep print and go, and access to the BOOM card companion as well…so you get it all in one!

If you’re only interested in the Boom Card companion, it is available individually, HERE.

Finally, I love using There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick. I have two freebies available for this book as well! You can find the printable freebie activity HERE, and the digital Boom Card version HERE.

Easter Games

What is Easter fun without games? My students have been LOVING pairing the game Jumpin’ Jack with our Easter activities! Here, it’s shown with targets from the Hangin’ With My Easter Peeps Social Skills packet. This packet includes 4 different activities for targeting social skills. You can use the game with just about anything though. Students can “earn” carrot pulls for completing targets, or you can use it as reinforcement at the end of the sessions.

And in case you didn’t know this, you can use Easter eggs for so many things….even year round! Use a Sharpie to write things on them such as plurals, contractions, opposites, vocab words and definitions, etc. and “match” them up. Or….you can place targets in them and hide the eggs around the room, letting your students go on an egg hunt!

Easter Language Activities

I have so many students working on language goals! From idioms to comprehension, verbs, and more, there’s something here for everyone!

If you want to incorporate nonfiction into your therapy lessons, teaching your students the history behind holidays we celebrate is a great way to do it! I use my History of The Easter Bunny comprehension packet to teach my older students where the tradition of the Easter Bunny come from! This packet also includes vocabulary cards and Bingo boards for younger students! If you teach at a Christian school or teach Sunday School, you may be interested in the History of the Resurrection comprehension packet, too!

If you don’t have a lot of time to prep therapy materials, I also use the Easter No Prep Speech and Language unit to target so many goals! It’s over 100 pages, and truly has something for everyone!

Finally, if you want to target following directions with basic and spatial concepts, you might want to check out this Easter Following Directions Boom Card set….it’s completely no prep and so much fun!

Easter Articulation Activities

I get so many messages about how I incorporate articulation activities into my mixed groups and literacy lessons. The answer is that I do it in SO MANY WAYS! (Maybe that should be a new blog post???) But I made these new Boom Card Collect the Easter Eggs Articulation activity, and Boom Card Collect the Carrots Articulation activity sets, and my students are LOVING THEM! There are cards for all initial sounds (with pictures and words), including /ch, sh, th, and blends/.

What an incredible honor to present at an ASHA Convention again, this time in DC, in what is the Centennial year of ASHA and coming up on the 250th anniversary of the USA! 🇺🇸

We spent the week touring DC as a family and teaching the kids all about our US History, trying new foods, and enjoying the cool fall weather and colorful leaves that we aren’t accustomed to.

My heart is full of gratitude as we start our long drive home tomorrow to get ready for Thanksgiving!
